By registering with or using the services of Fortis Logistics, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions
Fortis Logistics provides:
International freight forwarding
Package receiving and processing
Customs clearance services
In-office package collection
Optional local delivery (additional fee applies)
Assisted online ordering (service fee applies)
Shipments arrive three (3) times per week, subject to airline, carrier, and customs schedules.
Transit times are estimates and are not guaranteed.
Customers agree to:
Provide accurate registration and contact information
Ensure all shipped items comply with Jamaican laws and regulations
Submit accurate invoices and proof of payment when required
Pay all applicable shipping charges, customs duties, taxes, and service fees
Failure to provide accurate information may result in delays, reassessment fees, or additional charges.
Customers are responsible for submitting valid and accurate invoices reflecting the true value of goods.
All declared values must match the retailer’s invoice or payment receipt.
Undervaluation, altered invoices, or incorrect documentation may result in customs reassessment.
Any additional duties, penalties, administrative fees, or processing charges imposed by Customs due to inaccurate documentation will be the sole responsibility of the customer.
Fortis Logistics reserves the right to request updated invoices or proof of payment before releasing shipments.
Fortis Logistics is not responsible for customs reassessments resulting from inaccurate or incomplete documentation provided by the customer.
Customers must not ship prohibited items, including but not limited to:
Illegal substances
Firearms, weapons, or ammunition
Hazardous or flammable materials
Counterfeit goods
Restricted electronics or regulated items without approval
Fortis Logistics reserves the right to refuse, hold, or surrender prohibited items to authorities where required by law.
All shipping charges, customs duties, processing fees, and delivery fees must be paid in full before package release.
Assisted online ordering includes an additional service fee.
Duties and taxes paid to Customs are non-refundable.
All fees are subject to change without prior notice.
In the event of loss, damage, or misplacement of any shipment, Fortis Logistics’ total liability shall be strictly limited to a maximum compensation of USD $50 per shipment, regardless of the declared value, purchase price, or actual value of the goods. Under no circumstances shall Fortis Logistics be liable for any amount exceeding USD $50, or for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.
Fortis Logistics is not liable for:
Delays caused by airlines, shipping carriers, customs, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control.
Manufacturer defects or retailer errors.
Improper packaging by the seller.
Confiscation of restricted items by authorities.
Claims for damaged or missing items must be reported within 48 hours of collection or delivery.
Customers shipping high value items are encouraged to obtain independent insurance coverage. Fortis Logistics does not provide additional compensation beyond the stated limit.
Customers are granted seven (7) days free storage from the date of notification.
After seven (7) days:
A storage fee of JMD $150 per day per package will apply.
Storage fees must be paid before package release.
Packages uncollected after an extended period may be subject to disposal, or auction to recover outstanding charges, in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
Customers will be notified once packages are processed and ready.
Valid government-issued ID is required for collection.
Authorized representatives must present written authorization and identification.
Optional local delivery is available at an additional cost.
Shipping fees are non-refundable once shipment processing has begun.
Customs duties and government taxes are non-refundable.
Service fees for assisted ordering are non-refundable once the order has been placed.
Fortis Logistics is not responsible for packages once signed for and collected.
Customer information is kept confidential and used solely for operational, shipping, and compliance purposes.
Fortis Logistics reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Updated versions will be posted on our website.
